Established on 300 South between 900 and 1000 East, the Intermountain Salt Lake Clinic created the perfect community park/garden for the University Gardens Neighborhood/East Central Community Council.
Initially intended as an access road and extended parking, the Salt Lake Clinic wanted to create a positive space for the neighborhood leaving the 300 South block face intact. Traffic was diverted to 900 East and 400 South. The UNC Rose Community Garden is dedicated to Nan Estell Fitz Randolph Ayre, after the woman who owned much of the land on which the Salt Lake Clinic now stands. The Ribbon cutting for this area was held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013.
In the spring of 2015 the garden was turned over to the neighborhood for planting.
