City Cakes & Cafe has to be my favorite bakery in Salt Lake.  I have to admit, when I was pregnant, it was my go-to for that ever present sweet tooth.  City Cakes was founded in January 2010 and it has been a hit with Salt Lake residents ever since.  They even had to move to a new location last year because they needed more space!

Not only do they serve the most delicious pastries you’ve ever had, but they also have a coffee bar, breakfast and lunch items (I love the potato, sausage, cheeze wrap and the tempeh chicken pita wrap).

City Cakes is not in the East Central neighborhood, but it’s close enough to bike or make a quick trip in the car.  I promise you won’t be disappointed.  Just make sure you try their cinnamon roll, the peanut butter bar, and if they have it – their fruit tart.

City Cakes also creates gorgeous wedding cakes.  Check out their website for photos of previous creations.

City Cakes & Cafe is open Monday thru Saturday: 8am – 8pm and Sunday: 9am – 4pm.  They are located at 1000 So Main St.  Go check them out and be sure to like them on their facebook page.
