Salt Lake City Police Department has seen an increased frequency in theft and burglary throughout the city. These crimes are being committed during the day and night, in all different neighborhoods, and most are preventable. Be sure to lock up your home, windows, garage, and cars. Do not leave any property that is, or looks, valuable in your cars or yards, even in the trunk. Close your garage doors, even when you are home. And, please, be aware of suspicious people in your neighborhood or around businesses. If you do see something suspicious, take notes on what you see and a description of the person and share it with police.
You can do this by calling 799-3000 (non-emergency), filling out an online report found on the home page of SLCPD.com, or text TIPSLCPD to ‘CRIMES’ (274637).
Keep the bad guys at bay by practicing prevention.Hide your things. Lock your car. Take your keys. If burglars can’t gain access easily, they will move on, so we want to educate everyone on how to become a hard target.
